Millet flour: 60g
Sesame paste: 40g
Sesame oil: 10g
Sesame salt: 10g
Water: appropriate amount
1. Prepare all ingredients for Mian Cha. First, dilute the sesame paste with sesame oil and set aside.
2. Stir the millet flour with cold water until smooth.
3. Place a pot on the stove and pour in cold water.
4. Add the millet flour mixture diluted with cold water into the pot.
5. Turn on the heat and stir continuously with a spoon.
6. After boiling, reduce the heat and simmer slowly.
7. Turn off the heat when the batter thickens.
8. Ladle the batter into a bowl.
9. Pour the prepared sesame paste over it, then sprinkle with sesame salt. Now you can lift the bowl and start sipping along the rim, haha! The taste is quite good—this is old Beijing’s Mian Cha (Tea-like Millet Porridge).
